e)none of the above

Which is the following is a chemical property?
D
Reply:I think the answer is D. For an example of a chemical property is rusting.
Reply:A physical property is a description of matter - e.g. state, colour, lustre, viscosity, malleability, ductility, hardness, clarity, density, boiling and melting point.

A chemical property is a description of matter as it changes into a new substance (undergoes a chemical reacion). e.g. combustability, reaction with acid. Signs a chemical reaction has taken place are: new substance created, new colour, heat/light given off, unreversible, precipitate forms when two clear liquids are mixed.

That should help you.
Reply:Tarnishing of copper is similar to rusting of iron. New substances are formed in each case. Therefore it is a chemical change.
