I doubt that's likely. Hirsutism is caused by hormones (androgen stimulation) and tea wouldn't have an impact upon hormone levels unless you consumed VAST quantities of it. Even then it would be exceptionally doubtful.
Mint tea is however a wonderful tea to help one relax if one is stressed or anxious.
Spearmint Tea May Help Women With Hirsutism. how far is this true . have any one tried it?
I read some of the reports about that study. They found that if women drink a couple of cups of spearmint tea every day, it decreased the level of free testosterone in the body, and increased the levels of FSH and estrogen. The study was just a preliminary, much more research has to be done, but what would two cups of spearmint tea every day hurt in the meantime?
Reply:Do some research online and see what you find. I'm not familiar with that condition and haven't heard spearmint recommended for much other than calming an upset stomach.
Reply:I've never heard this, but I can say that spearmint tea is a very close relative of peppermint tea and neither has strong effects on the endocrine system. Hirsutism (facial hair growth) is often caused by a hormonal imbalance, and I honestly can't believe that an herb that's not extremely powerful hormonally would do anything. Sounds more like a wive's tale, but I'm interested to hear if anyone has found it to be true.
Stronger herbs that act more on the female endocrine system include wild yam, vitex, dong quai, false unicorn root, and sarasparilla. They should be used with the help of a skilled herbal practioner.
Reply:I doubt it's true.
More women would know about it if it was true.
