Flowers On A Desert Sea

I lay in the shade of my daydreams,


Soaking up the coolness of my thoughts.


I have traveled the plains of existence,


Seeking that which can't be bought.





I have journeyed through time and space,


On a conduit of sounds.


I've built rowhouses out of mercy,


And Christened it God's Town.





Planted roses made of licorice,


Toasted life with spearmint tea.


But have never seen such beauty as,


Flowers on a desert sea.

Not to worry about Marty mcnab or whatever it is, roses are red is all he can do, so he's jealous. Keep up the good work, that has been one of your better efforts, I really liked reading it. Wonder if smarty marty would tell me to get back to basics, or which of my three books he'd figure "sucked" lol. I guess when he starts getting royalty checks he will be entitled to a negative opinion of good poetry.

Reply:I love the desert, so I can visualize "Flowers on a desert sea." Sandy dunes with waves and peaks do remind one of a desert sea. Also, sand as far as you can see brings to mind a seascape.





I like your poem very much! The only line that throws me is the one about rowhouses out of mercy--leaves questions and does not flow like the rest of the poem. If it is important to you, it's all that matters.
