Has it really ever helped for you?

I have severe nausea and am so tired of hovering over the toilet. I'm wondering, has sipping giner ale, ginger tea, spearmint/peppermint or rapberry leaf tea ever really helped anyone for nausea??

If not, what HAS helped??

I'm 16 weeks pregnant.

Has it really ever helped for you?
yes peppermint tea really helped me it would settle it right down i live on the stuff and still drink it now im 38 + weeks
Reply:I just used hard candy.
Reply:i suck on certs(mints) the peppermint kind. they help for heartburn and nausea.
Reply:dont use raspberry leaf tea so early on in pregnancy, it's not good for your uterus. check with your midwife what things work
Reply:Quietly Chamomile is the best tea for nausea. It is great tea for just relaxing. It is a very mild tea and has a very good flavor. Good luck to you.
Reply:okay sounds wierd but it totally works for me,

Drink a cup of hot cocoa, suck on a peppermint, or drink an orange soda. These all worked for me, and i had really bad morning sickness. give it a shot good luck if its really bad and you have good insurance ask for phenegren.
Reply:Ginger ale and saltine crackers helped. Also, laying on your side not your back seems to work wonders.
Reply:Anything ginger works well, I have had candied ginger in my purse so I had access to it all the times.

Also, you can get bracelets from the drugists, that when positioned properly on the wrist, put pressure on the correct accupuncture point, and help ease nausea.
Reply:None of the home remedies ever helped me. I asked my dr for a prescription and he gave me Zofran for during the day and Phenergan for at night and the combo worked WONDERS!

I was so sick from 6-26wks with my daughter I was miserable!
Reply:I had nausea my WHOLE pregnancy. I puked usually 4 times a day until the day I delivered. I tried IT ALL, and in the end just wasted a bunch of money...

A lot fo people say mint really helps them.
Reply:I had severe nausea when I was pregnant. There were two things that I found helped a little. First, I figured out what foods always made me puke. (for my first baby it was any refined sugar, any any sort of condiments. My second was added oil, fruit, and my prenatal vit.) I found that dandelion tea helped so very much. I bought dried root and leaf from a local herb store and then infused about a half teaspoon of each in a cup of freshly boiled water for about 20 minutes, twice a day. nothing else I tried worked ( i tried: vit b6, rasp. tea, ginger, cayenne tea, lemon juice, dramamine, soda water, activated charcoal, and I'm sure there's more, but I don't have my prenancy journal near me) Also here's an article to help with perspective. :) I only puked 131 times with my second.
Reply:sucking on peppermint candies helped me ALOT!!
Reply:Ugh I remember that feeling. It was awful. Here's what helped me:

Ginger ale

Not eating and drinking at the same time

Saltines as soon as I wake up

Not lying flat after eating

Peppermint tea (cooled)
