How to make tea with my own plants?

I have a spearmint and a peppermint plant that I would like to use for making my own herbal tea. I know that I first dry the leaves. How do I then brew these dried leaves into tea? I don't have a mesh tea bag like the store bought tea, so what do I use? I thought about putting the leaves into a coffee filter and brewing it in a coffee maker? But then it wouldn't be steeping for 5 minutes either.

Reply:Use 1 tsp dried spearmint or peppermint to 1 cup of hot water, let steep 10 mins and strain through the coffee filter. Keep in mind that these teas are tarty and have a wang to them when you are drinking a pure mint tea. If you have lemon balm or raspberry tea leaf and then add mint to the mix and steep for 10 mins. this would be an excellent and refreshing drink. Spearmint is good for soothing an upset stomach and so is peppermint.
Reply:Click the link below to see the tea bags for loose tea leaves.

Instructions should come with the bags.

There is also a metal loose tea holder you can buy to reuse. They sell these at any kitchen supply store for around 15-20 bucks.

Enjoy your yummy tea!!!!!
